- Hell’s Kitchen might have taught model and WAG Abbey Clancy a thing or two about nouveau cuisine, but she knows what she likes. The girlfriend of footie star Peter Crouch has admitted since leaving the show that “I’m sick of rich food. I want some normal food, like beans on toast or a ham sandwich.” Sounds good to me. - Coleen McLoughlin is desperate for her parents to leave their home in Liverpool after the shooting of school boy Rhys Jones. Having endured years of death threats against her loved ones, Coleen is hoping they will move in with her and fiancé Wayne Rooney in Cheshire. I'm sure they could pay their way, doing the ironing or something.[Now magazine]

- Usually seen scuffing about in battered trainers and colourful dresses, Lily Allen has gone glam for an advert for the Braun Satin Hair range. I wouldn’t mess with her while brandishing some heavy hair-straighteners, would you? [the Metro]

Subject: Bad Weather Hits 2007 Drinks Marketing Spend (and the Diet

Remember the shirtless handsome hunk Coke advertised with a dozen years ago? Well they&#39ve brought the Diet Coke Hunk back in the UK where Coke&#39s advertising for that toxic drink tripled in 2007 to 94 million British pounds. Wow.

So what happened to him in the USA anyway? The Atlanta Journal Constitution bragged of his advertising skill, the best they had ever had. He was advertising to the young group and when he came to town you had to buy a Diet Coke to get his autograph. I knew this had to be stopped or youngsters would get hooked on aspartame, this addictive excitoneurotoxic carcinogenic drug.

So when Lucky (the Diet Coke Hunk) came to town so did I. I took the damning documents about aspartame and put them in a box with a letter about the harm it can cause, particularly children, and probably he was unaware. When he got out of the white limo at Lenox Square he was flanked by the media and Coke. I was dressed to be noticed in a black wide brim hat, dark glasses, short dress and spike heels. The box was decorated beautifully. When I got as close as I could and Lucky looked my way, I threw it and said: "Lucky, a gift from the people." Coke tried to get the box but Lucky caught it and opened it at lunch. In the meantime I gave out flyers to the people waiting in line.

From there Lucky went to Kroger, a large grocery store chain. I noticed Coke representatives were holding flyers with an unhappy look on their face. I did not buy a Diet Coke, of course, but got Lucky&#39s signature and pictures. He looked up at me and said, "You&#39re the aspartame lady" and I replied, "No sugar, I&#39m the anti-aspartame lady."

It turned out that Lucky is obviously a man of great integrity and realized he could no longer advertise something he didn&#39t know was deadly to children and the public at large. He obviously had a contract with Coke. Fifty eight days later he was on Hardcopy, a now cancelled excellent TV program, that exposes the truth. Lucky was no longer working for Coke and what they said was that he didn&#39t bring them enough publicity. This after bragging in the Atlanta Journal Constitution he brought them more publicity than anyone ever had. In fact, Lucky already had another job.

I can only suppose what happened. I suspect he told Coke he couldn&#39t publicize Diet Coke anymore, and they let him out of his contract if he agreed to keep quiet and they would say they let him go.

I&#39m glad he stopped before he used it for any length of time. Look at the ones who have advertised aspartame or products that contained the toxin. Cher had chronic fatigue syndrome and advertised Equal until I sent her a letter. She was about to renew her contract and didn&#39t. Michael Jackson advertised Diet Pepsi and has lupus according to one article. Michael Fox advertised Diet Pepsi and has Parkinson&#39s and asked why he got an old man&#39s disease at the age of 30. I sent out a press release, Save The Fox. He knows about it but I believe is still addicted. Aspartame can precipitate Parkinson&#39s and interacts with L-dopa and such drugs. Britney Spears who advertised Diet Pepsi last I heard was in a mental hospital. Some wrote she was also chewing aspartame gum. The phenylalanine in aspartame lowers the seizure threshold and depletes serotonin triggering psychiatric and behavioral problems such as bipolar or manic depression, suicidal tendencies, panic attacks, mood swings, insomnia, etc. Heath Ledger, a user of Diet Coke, suffered bipolar and insomnia. Aspartame also damages the cardiac conduction system and causes sudden death, and interacts with other drugs. He recently went to sleep and never woke up. Athletes as well are dropping dead. Consider Charles Fleming who died of methanol poisoning (aspartame liberates free methyl alcohol). His wife who took 3 lie detector tests and passed is now serving 30 and 20 years in a Virginia prison, interviewed in "Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World", www.soundandfury.tv An actress wrote who advertised Crystal Lite that she had to drink some and got deathly ill. Cheryl Kemptner who is in Sweet Misery wore a bracelet in the hospital not to be given aspartame. They gave her Crystal Lite anyway and she became a Code Blue but survived.

So make sure you Mission Possible activists in the UK that this gets to the new Diet Coke Hunk, Wayne Rooney, and keep him from advertising aspartame to the population of Europe to cause addiction, disability and death!

Bad weather hits 2007 drinks marketing spend

Soft drinks manufacturers spent 15 per cent less on marketing their brands in 2007 compared with 2006, pulling back on investment as the wet summer created poor market conditions, according to the Britvic Soft Drink Report 2008.

Marketing investment in brands last year totalled £128 million compared with £108.8 million in 2006.

Coca-Cola was the biggest spender with £28.93 million, down seven per cent on 2006, followed by Britvic/Pepsico with £28.48 million, up 14 per cent on 2006&#39s £24.82 million.

Within this, Diet Coke was the top spending brand with £73 million spent on marketing an increase of 296 per cent on 2006 when it did not appear in the top ten.

The ‘Diet Coke Hunk’ was reintroduced back onto UK television screens, in an ad created by Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest (VCCP), last January.

Second was Coca-Cola’s original Coke with £7.59 million, up 3 per cent after dropping 25 per cent in 2006 and third Pepsi-Max with £6.8 million, up six per cent on 2006.

Coca-Cola Zero, so-called ‘Bloke Coke’, increased its marketing spend by 13 per cent last year to 6.03 million.

Coca-Cola launched its third television campaign for Coke Zero last March in an ad created by VCCP and starring Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney.
