Neverland Ranch saved from sale by mystery benefactor (well, a private equity group)

Tell me I'm not the only one who's been hoping the place would be bought up by a real cowboy and restored to the actual cattle ranch it surely once was, with perhaps a trough or something kept aside for Michael to sleep in. So share in my disappointment at the news that, just days before the place was due to be auctioned, Neverland has been snapped up. The enigmatically-named 1224 LLC (Colony Capital, a New York-based private equity group) have bought out his loans of around $24 million and saved the land from auction. So, Jackson remains the official owner of Neverland Ranch... for now. But at what long-term cost to his wallet, sanity and family? I implore you, Michael: think of the children.
