Here's a curious tale for you all. Alex Reid has claimed that the hostile reception he and his missus, Katie Price, received at a recent cage fight was "borderline bullying". Not that kicking lumps out of each other is like bullying all the blood out of someone at all. Earlier this month, the pair were subjected to a barrage of catcalls and insults as they watched Tom 'Kong' Watson face off against Matt Horwich at Birmingham's LG Arena.
This match was due to feature Ried, but he later pulled out due to injury.
Writing in his Star magazine column, the Celebrity Big Brother winner explained: "The troublemakers at the fight show last week really disappointed me. I was looking forward to going, though I was a bit apprehensive about the reaction I would get, but I really wanted to support the fight.
"There were boos when I entered, but I thought, 'I can live with that'. I was with the Tom Watson crowd so expected a bit of pantomime behaviour, but it wasn't nice when people started throwing bananas and bottles. That was unacceptable and I worried about taking Katie.
Warning! I've no idea what this next bit is about... but I fear I may have taken drugs because it can't ever be in the realms of possibility.
Reid continued: "The gorilla in the wheelchair upset her because she thought it was a dig at Harvey, but the guy was supposed to be me. It's not nice - come on, guys. You had to see some of the hate that was directed towards us to believe it. It was borderline bullying."
However, Reid insisted that there was also "a lot of love" for him at the event and said that he is "thankful" to fans who defended him by jeering at the troublemakers.
Baffling.
