Mitch wants Lady Gaga to play Amy Winehouse
Lady Gaga has been given the green light to play Amy Winehouse from her dad, Mitch.
Rumours have been doing the rounds that Lady Gaga may play Amy since she was said to be "in shock" after hearing news of Amy's death in March. The singer even apparently visited the star's home while in the UK to "pay respect to a musical hero".
At the time of Amy's death, a source close to Gaga revealed she "worshipped Amy and would love nothing more than to transform herself in to her idol on the big screen".
And now Mitch Winehouse has given his approval if the film goes ahead.
Speaking to The Sunday Mirror, Amy's dad said: "We were invited to Tony Bennett's birthday party and sat on a table with Lady Gaga's mum and dad. They are just normal folk and very lovely people.
"I have heard that Lady Gaga is keen to play Amy in a film. I don't know what her English accent is like but it's not just an English accent she would have to perfect - it's an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practising now", he added. "She would be great."
She certainly would. Surely this film has to go ahead now?
