Five reasons we love Ryan Gosling

Later today, we'll find out who's been nominated for The Oscars 2012. According to people who know about these things, our film of the year - Drive, probably won't even get a look in. Just like our film of 2011, Blue Valentine didn't last year.

If you're as obsessed with the smouldering fitness that is Ryan Gosling as us (or just go to the cinema more than once a year), you'll notice a little theme here - we only really rate films where we can stare at the Goz for a full ninety minutes in the name of cinema. So shoot us.

Although we haven't actually asked them, we're going to make an educated guess that the judges of the 84th Academy Awards probably don't use the same criteria when handing out the bald golden man. Otherwise Ryan's perfectly polished open fireplace (he's our ideal man of course he makes fire with his bare hands) would be collapsing under the strain.

So, here's why The Goz would be taking home the Best Actor accolade if we had anything to do with it...
