Welcome Lucy Quick - Star Trip guest editor for the OSCARS 2012

Lucy Quick.jpg We're wishing a warm welcome to the wonderful writer Lucy Quick! Shame her name doesn't start with a 'W', but you can't have everything.

Lucy, who currently writes for Empire magazine will be taking over Star Trip as guest editor for the OSCARS 2012. This Sunday night, the film buff and celebrity addict will be sat in her ball gown, tuned in to Sky and blogging about the Academy Awards live so be sure to visit us first for all your awards news, gossip and red carpet moments! Lucy will also be live blogging for our sister site OSOBLOG so for red carpet style news and to find out who's wearing what head over there.

Before the big night on Sunday we thought we'd take five minutes to get to know Lucy.

Tell us about yourself...
'I currently work in the mad-hatter world that is Empire. In the last 26 months I've worked on various set visits (a highlight being Hawaii, a lowlight being Clapham Common), styled many a famous face and chased Ryan Gosling around Claridges until he agreed to give me an exclusive.
I watch five films a week on average and devour any books that get sent my way. I read blogs, I'm unhealthily addicted to Twitter and Facebook and I'm thrilled to be guest blogging on Star Trip and OSOBLOG!'

Top tip for blagging your way into a private party?
'Be confident and flash a big smile. Security are always more responsive to a smile than a surly 'don't you know who I am' approach. If all else fails, steal someone else's identity from the guestlist!'

Who was the first person you interviewed?
'For Empire it was Sean Bean! An awfully violent film called Black Death, which he stars in with man-of-the-moment Eddie Redmayne. He was utterly lovely and put my nerves at ease.'

Which celebrity would you like to hug?
'Ryan Gosling. Shamefully, just because I want to feel his abs. Have you seen him in Crazy, Stupid, Love?? In the words of Emma Stone 'he looks like he's been Photoshopped!''

Which celebrity would you like to custard pie?
'James Cordon, just because I think he'd take it really well. You couldn't custard pie many celebs without getting a slap.'

Who would you like to see win best actress/actor at the OSCARS this year?
'I'd love to see my old chum Meryl Streep (I've interviewed her twice, that makes us good friends, right...?) pick up her third Academy Award for Iron Lady. To take on the role of such a despised woman and still make you feel compassion for her is something few actresses could pull off.
For Best Actor it has to be Jean Dujardin for The Artist. He's so sexy, and French, and sexy. Oh, and did I mention he can act, tap-dance and train dogs. Plus if he wins, it means Brad and George's Bromance can continue. We don't want a little thing like an OSCAR coming between them.'

Lucy will be taking over Star Trip on Sunday night to live blog the OSCARS. Tune in from midnight (UK time) to read all about it! Don't forget to head over to OSOBLOG too for the skinny on who's wearing what.
