Adele overtakes Michael Jackson's Thriller sales
Sales of Adele's album 21 have officially overtaken the late Michael Jackson's Thriller in the UK.
The 23-year-old's singer has now sold 4,274,300 copies of her second album, 500 more (and counting) than the Jackson's classic 1982 album Thriller.
We're more than a little bit stunned.
The other top albums all read as expected - Queen's Greatest Hits tops the chart, closely followed by The Beatles and Abba. Oasis take up the fourth slot. And now Adele.
But while she's topping the UK charts and that's very impressive, worldwide Thriller has actually sold around 110 million copies and no other album comes close to topping that. The UK might have gone Adele crazy and she must be absolutely thrilled with the success of her labum, but we're not sure the rest of the world will follow suit just yet. She's got a long way to go before she's more popular than that King of pop music.
