Boyzone pay tribute to Gately
"Last Saturday, our world changed forever when we lost our friend and brother Stephen. We have come to Majorca today to accompany our pal on his final journey back to Dublin, where we know he will be given an unforgettable send off tomorrow," said Keating.
"We would like to thank the authorities here for the help and for the respect they have shown our friend. Stephen and Andrew had chosen to make Majorca their second home and we know that Stephen loved the times they spent together here."
He continued: "The countless messages of love and support we have received this week and have truly overwhelmed us and the Gately family. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for each and every one of them.
"We would also like to thank the media for respecting our privacy this week and ask that you continue to do so tomorrow. Stephen lived to perform and truly loved being centre stage. You can be sure that he is looking down now wishing that we would move over so he could flash a smile for the cameras one more time."
Speaking about the future of the band, he added: "What the future holds for the four of us, it's too soon to even think about, but we know nothing will ever be the same without our dearest friend Stephen. Rest in peace, brother."

Stephen Gately died of natural causes
The news of Stephen Gately passing at the weekend was certainly a shock. At 33 years young and no previous when it came to drugs or alcohol abuse, it seemed too weird that he was to leave this life now. Rumours have been rife thanks to the untimely nature of his death. However, a post-mortem carried out on the body of of the former Boyzone star concludes that he died of natural causes.
According to Sky News, a court official in Majorca has announced that Gately passed away after suffering a pulmonary oedema, which is a build-up of fluid on the lungs.
The findings appear to confirm suggestions that the 33-year-old choked on his own vomit following a night out with his partner Andrew Cowles on the holiday island. A court hearing on the matter was held in the Majorcan capital of Palma today.
Gately's family were reportedly informed by a judge that they are now free to fly his body home.

Ronan Keating and the religious cult?
Ronan Keating has revealed that his mother (or should I say his 'ma''?) thought Boyzone was a religious cult when he first joined the band.
The singer admitted that he had to convince her that he was not being brainwashed by manager Louis Walsh into a strange sect.
"My mother thought I was joining a religious cult when I said I was joining a pop band," he told Heat Radio.
"There was no such thing as boybands in Ireland, so when I was hanging around with Louis Walsh and these four other lads, she had no idea what was going on."
Keating went on to claim that Boyzone were better placed to handle their fame since reuniting in 2007. "It was overwhelming before, now I'm taking it in my stride. And it's wonderful to work with the guys, not taking ourselves too seriously," he said.
"We wanted to be cool back then and be Oasis, not Boyzone. Now we're very happy being Boyzone."

Boyzone want to collaborate with Take That
Boyzone, fresh from a fist fight, have revealed that they would like to organise a collaboration with Take That for their next album.
The boyband admitted that their reunion was inspired by Take That and singer Stephen Gately suggested that they perform a track together in the future.
"It would be great although I don't know whether they'd be up for doing it," he told the Daily Star. "Please tell them I would love to do it. I'm a big Take That fan and they've definitely set the benchmark."
Gately proposed that the two acts do a song in the style of Girls Aloud and Sugababes' charity single 'Walk This Way'. Any suggestions for a song readers?

Boyzone? Warzone more like!
Boyzone are the last band you'd expect to be getting in brawls in a nightclub. However, that's apparently what has happened as the popsters allegedly got stuck in with members of Rihanna's band following a six-hour booze session in Australia. Did they have to wait for a key-change in a song before standing up to scrap?
Allegedly, the brawl started after one of the Irish singers approached a girl from Rihanna's band in a Sydney club, says The Mirror. Stephen Gately, obviously not the one chatting any ladies up, admitted it had been "more than a difference of opinion". "It was over a girlfriend of one of Rihanna's band members. We just wanted to chat and be friendly and this guy tries to rough us up," he said.
He went on to explain that he and his bandmates Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy had been out with former Westlifer Brian McFadden, who lives in Sydney. A source said: "The boys held their own despite being unsteady on their feet. Security came to break it all up. They got a stern talking to."

Boyzone strip off for reunion tour
Remember "The Full Monty"? Well ladies, if you thought things that erotic didn't come along twice in one lifetime, you can think again. Seems Boyzone are subscribing to the Girls Aloud school of showbiz, and wearing as little as possible for a shoot promoting their comeback tour. Following in the footsteps of Take That and the Spice Girls, the band have toned up and turned up, and
actually don't look that bad! Not that bad at all. By the way, it was 1993 when Boyzone first got together. Read it and weep, old timer. You can keep your hat on.
