Have Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow fallen out? Yes? No?

Gwyneth-Paltrow_2.jpgWhat do Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow have in common? Well, they're both keen on yoga. That's one. They're American. They've both been married to reviled Englishmen and relocated to Britain. Quite a lot then? Well, it is no surprise that they're chums then. However, there have been reports have been flying around saying that they now completely hate each other and will punch each others lights out. Possibly.

According to US Weekly, the relationship between the two has been deteriorating since the popstar split from Guy Ritchie in 2008 and now they have no contact at all.

A source said, unhelpfully: "I can't tell you exactly why they had the falling out, but Gwyneth can be jealous and competitive."

Paltrow once likened Madonna to an older sister, but told British Vogue in May that she was feeling "angry" about a problem she was having with a friend, hinting at the Madonna clash.

However, now the pair are saying it just isn't true. Paltrow's rep told Gossip Cop that the rumour is false.

"[It's] not true. [They are] still friends," said the spokesperson.

A rep for Madonna also dismissed the report as "BS".

So there you have it. Two people you've never met may have fallen out and made up again and buses are still smelly and late all the time.

Madonna gets record deal for Jesus

madonna-picture-1.jpgMadonna has apparently bagged a record deal for her model boyfriend Jesus Luz. Sorry if you thought that the headline was referring to Jesus Christ Our Lord bloke. Luz has allegedly been signed by Madonna's former label Warner and will release his first single 'We Came From Light' in May. Doesn't Madge have her own record label she could've signed him to? Anyway, according to a source (ha! That old chestnut!) "Madonna was determined to give Jesus all the help she can. She holds a lot of sway at Warner, where she had a deal until very recently. But getting him on the books wasn't completely plain-sailing."

"There was a little give and take between her and execs, but a compromise was eventually settled upon."

Luz reportedly secured a two-single deal, with Warner getting first refusal on an album.

Madonna is said to have covered all of Luz's recording expenses and put him in touch with 'Frozen' remixer Victor Calderone.

"Madonna really wants Jesus's career to take off," the sourse added.

"She's been going through her Filofax and putting him in contact with as many of her influential pals as she can.

"She's worked with Victor for a very long time and he understands just what she likes. Having him rejig Jesus's tracks will give them a cool cachet which is essential to building a clubland buzz."

Madonna is a "ridiculous old bag"

Madonna- An ex-girlfriend of model Jesuz Luz has called his (alleged) new fancy piece, Madonna, a "ridiculous old bag" and said that their relationship is "very weird". Catharina Franca told the Daily Mail that the pop star may be dating Luz in order to make ex-husband Guy Ritchie jealous.

Franca said: "I think the age makes a difference and it is ridiculous for her. It's like my mum with a boyfriend my age, or even my grandmother. I think it's very weird. She is a ridiculous old bag, jumping around on stage at her age. I think she has some kind of an age complex, she still thinks she is a young woman, she can't accept her age."

"Jesus needs to think very well what he is going to do afterwards because she will find another toyboy. I think he could get very hurt because he is the kind of guy who gets very involved emotionally."

Some reports have suggested that the relationship between the pair is a sham, though it was recently claimed that Madonna had invited Luz to move in with her.

Madonna 'furious' at Guy Ritchie

Madonna_veinyMadonna is apparently furious with ex-husband Guy Ritchie for allowing another woman to sleep in his home. Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. Now magazine reports that the film producer Lauren Meek, 32, has stayed over at Ritchie's house after the pair 'put the world to rights over a whisky'.Sounds innocent enough, right?

A source told the magazine: "Guy used to toe the line just to keep his wife happy. But now the shackles are off he finds it hilarious. He decided long ago to see who he wants, when he wants. And if it infuriates Madonna in the process, so much the better."

The insider added that Meek has been a "shoulder to cry on" for Ritchie during his breakup with the 50-year-old singer. Ritchie has told friends that the pair sleep in separate rooms, while his spokesman previously insisted that they are "just friends" and have their offices in the same building.

Madonna dumped by A-Rod?

MadonnaMadonna. Splits up with husband and father of her kids for a newer, hipper model. Now? Well, apparently, she's been dumped by baseball star Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod has decided to reunite with his estranged wife Cynthia Scurtis and vowed to keep his distance from the singer, reports claim.

"This is the ultimate dis," a source told Metro. "Alex's handlers want to make sure he's as far from the singer as possible. He has enough negative publicity as it is."

The couple were rumoured to be an item after meeting over their mutual interest in Kabbalah, and were later described as having "an affair of the heart". Speculation increased that the pair were having a relationship after Rodriguez was spotted attending the Miami leg of Madonna's 'Sticky & Sweet' tour.

If rumours are to be believed, Madge has already moved on with a singer of a Latin persuasion...

Guy Ritchie and Madonna in custody battle?

Guyritchie The break-up between Madonna and Guy Ritchie seemed to be going quite well, but now, storms gather as Ritchie is reportedly worried that Madonna will break their custody agreement.

The director's father claimed that Ritchie fears his ex-wife could refuse to return their children from the US. John Ritchie said: "The children are with Madonna at the moment. Our worry is that she won't send them back and Guy hopes she won't keep them."

Ritchie and Madonna finalised their divorce earlier this month and agreed to share custody of their children. Eight-year-old Rocco and adopted son David, three, will split their time between living in the US with Madonna and the UK with Ritchie. Lourdes, Madonna's daughter from a previous relationship, will remain in the US.

Madonna's text attacks

Mad Madonna has been sending estranged husband Guy Ritchie strange text messages blaming him for leaking details of their split.

Madonna has been sending estranged husband Guy Ritchie strange text messages.

Guy, 40, showed some of the messages to the crew on his latest film 'Sherlock Holmes' - which he is currently shooting in Manchester, England - and one of them is believed to have warned "you're going down".

The director reportedly told a friend: "This is her idea of a joke - but it's not funny. Imagine what it was like living with her."

Madonna, 50, has reportedly sent a host of similar texts to Guy since announcing their split two weeks ago, blaming him for leaking details of the breakdown in their marriage.

Another source added to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "She loves to wind Guy up and this is just another example of her oddball humour. He doesn't take these things too seriously. If he did, it would drive him mad."

It was reported Madonna made an emotional plea to Guy to settle their divorce out of court - the first direct contact she has had with the film director since they split - earlier this week.

A source said: "Madonna tried to remind Guy of all the good times, said how they must settle before it got any more messy and public. She said she had been saddened by some of the criticisms of her which appeared to have come from his camp."

Madonna and Guy's lawyers are still negotiating the details of the divorce, after the filmmaker reportedly turned down a £20 million settlement offer.

The 'RocknRolla' director insists his main concern is securing access to the children they raise together - Lourdes, 11, Rocco, eight and David Banda, three.

The children are with Madonna on her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour at the moment, but due to be reunited with Guy soon, although Madonna will reportedly not be at the handover.

Madonna's emotional Guy call

Mad Madonna has reportedly spoken to estranged husband Guy Ritchie for the first time in weeks, after making an emotional phone call to the director in a bid to settle their divorce out of court.

Madonna has reportedly spoken to estranged husband Guy Ritchie for the first time in weeks in a bid to settle their divorce out of court.

The 50-year-old singer - who announced earlier this month she and Guy are splitting after nearly eight years of marriage - is believed to have made an emotional phone call to the director on Tuesday night (28.10.08) to come to an amicable agreement about the separation.

A source told the MailOnline website: "It was a very emotional call and a sign of the desperation Madonna feels for them to settle before things start getting more serious legally.

"Madonna tried to remind Guy of all the good times, said how they must settle before it got any more messy and public. She said she had always worked so hard to provide for the family. She said she had been saddened by some of the criticisms of her which appeared to have come from his camp."

Madonna, who raises three children with Guy, was reportedly encouraged to contact her estranged spouse by her Kabbalah spiritual leader Rabbi Berg.

Berg wants the couple to remain on speaking terms so the reputation of Kabbalah, a mystical offshoot of Judaism, is not damaged.

A source close to Madonna said after the tearful conversation, the singer cried openly in front of her staff for the first time, after the strain of their bitter split took its toll.

Madonna's 'marriage contract'

Guyrichie Madonna tried to control Guy Ritchie with a "marriage contract", which gave intimate instructions on how to act towards each other.

Madonna tried to control Guy Ritchie with a "marriage contract", it has been claimed.

The "contract" was drawn up after the couple - who split after nearly eight years of marriage two weeks ago - visited marriage counsellors two years ago.

The document gave intimate instructions such as how much private time the couple should have together, how often they were to have sex and how to tackle arguments.

According to Britain's The Sun newspaper the document ordered Guy to "Work to enrich his wife's emotional and spiritual wellbeing," and devote time to reading texts related to Kabbalah, the mystical offshoot of Judaism which Madonna follows.

On sex, the marriage rules state both of the couple should "devote time to our sexual expressiveness" and "not use sex as a stick to beat one another".

The rules also detailed how Guy should "resolve conflicts in a constructive way", and if they were arguing he must not shout at his wife, but look her in the eye and say: "I understand that my actions have upset you, please work with me to resolve this."

A source close to the couple said: "Guy felt bound up."

According to other insiders, Madonna pinned the contract to the wall of the couple's home in New York, and if things became heated between them, she would say: "Contract, Guy, contract."

The British film director was spotted on the set of his new film 'Sherlock Holmes' in the UK yesterday (28.10.08), strumming a classical guitar.

He reportedly took up the instrument after Madonna bought him one while they were dating.

After Guy reportedly rejected his wife's initial offer of a £20 million settlement, Madonna's friends are reportedly calling him "Material Guy", in reference to her famous hit 'Material Girl'. He maintains he is only requesting the cash equivalent of the value of their London home - estimated to be worth £25 million - and their country estate in Wiltshire.

Guy Ritchie's pool power

Guyrichie Guy Ritchie has scrapped plans by his estranged wife Madonna's to fill their swimming pool with holy Kabbalah water.

Guy Ritchie has ended the plans of his estranged wife Madonna to fill their swimming pool with Kabbalah water.

Before announcing their split earlier this month, Guy and Madonna had been given permission by local authorities to build an indoor pool at their estate in Wiltshire, Southern England.

Madonna, 50, wanted the pool to be filled with special blessed Kabbalah water - in keeping with the mystical offshoot of Judaism which she follows - but Guy, 40, is now insisting the pool is filled with normal chlorinated water.

A source close to the couple told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Guy partly blames Kabbalah for the deterioration of their marriage, so the last thing he wants is an Olympic pool-sized reminder of the religion.

"There would also have been water fountains dotted around, again filled with Kabbalah water.

"Since splitting, they've agreed to let Guy keep the country home - meaning he can do what he wants with it. One of the first things he's insisted on is scrapping the ridiculous pool plans."

Changing the plans for the pool have not come cheap however, as the source added: "Cancelling the order means he'll have to pay out almost £10,000 plus he will have to pay a regular firm to fill the pool."

According to the website kabbalahwater.com, the special water is "channelled through certain Kabbalistic blessings and meditations" and "infused with sharing consciousness, Kabbalah Water manifests water's primordial capacity to heal and protect".

As Guy works on his new film 'Sherlock Holmes' in the UK, Madonna continues her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour in the US - but friends claim she is now in "full meltdown mode" and "barely functioning without a Kabbalah consultant".

Rumours linking her to baseball star Alex 'A-Rod' Rodriguez also persist, with a source claiming the pair will go to Malawi together - the birthplace of David Banda, the three year old adopted by Madonna and Guy.

The source added: "Madonna is still planning a trip to Malawi when the divorce is finalised and her tour is over, and she still expects A-Rod to come on the trip with her. There's very much a deep relationship there."

Madonna's Kabbalah anger cure

Mad Madonna is having Kabbalah "anger management" counselling to deal with her rage at estranged husband Guy Ritchie as their divorce battle rages on.

Madonna is having Kabbalah "anger management" counselling to deal with her rage at estranged husband Guy Ritchie.

The singer has been accompanied on the North American leg of her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour by a counsellor representing the mystical offshoot of Judaism, of which she is a follower.

A source close to Madonna told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "She has turned to Kabbalah to sooth her rage, and is getting intense counselling on the road and at the Kabbalah Centre in New York.

"The counsellor is telling her she will meet her soulmate - but first has to calm her anger."

Madonna, 50, is reportedly set to fly from Toronto - where she performed last night (23.10.08) - to New York this weekend to visit the city's Kabbalah centre. She was spotted leaving the same centre during another short break in her world tour last week.

The source added: "Madonna is very angry with Guy - about his cold treatment of her in the marriage, about the nasty details of their marriage that have leaked out, and about the money he is demanding."

Madonna has claimed the British film director "emotionally abandoned" her, and friends believe the turning point in their marriage came with Guy's allegedly unsympathetic reaction after she fell from a horse in 2005, breaking several bones.

Rumours linking Madonna to New York Yankees baseball star Alex 'A-Rod' Rodriguez were fuelled last night after it was reported he was to fly out and see her perform in Toronto.

Guy, 40, was said to be "in pieces" this week after he saw pictures of the couple's son Rocco, eight, wearing a New York Yankees T-shirt in what appeared to be an attack on him by Madonna.

Guy and Madonna raise two other children, Lourdes, 12 and David Banda, three.

The couple's lawyers are presently working out details of their divorce.

Guy spy Madonna

Guyrichie Guy Ritchie claims Madonna is watching his every move during their divorce battle, comparing her actions to Russian spy agency the KGB.

Guy Ritchie claims Madonna is spying on him during their divorce battle.

The 'RocknRolla' director is said to be furious his estranged wife is watching his every move and couldn't believe she even knew of a private family dinner he held to discuss the couple's impending divorce.

Guy has compared Madonna's intrusive actions to "something concocted by the KGB", the notorious former Russian security service, and has allegedly told her "this is a divorce, not the cold war".

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Any hopes Guy had of their divorce being private and dignified are out the window. She's a control freak and there's so much at stake.

"When Guy found out she knew about the dinner he lost the plot. He said, 'How can you set fire to our whole world? Why go to such lengths to destroy me?' "

Since the announcement of the couple's split last week, Madonna has accused Guy of "emotionally abandoning" her, while the 40-year-old filmmaker claims the pair broke up because of Madonna's controlling nature and her devotion to the mystical religion Kabbalah.

He was further dismayed when the 50-year-old singer developed an interest in Hinduism earlier this year.

A friend told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "He didn't talk about it but it must have been very confusing for Guy. Every weekend was dominated by Kabbalah. Then Madonna develops another interest - and Guy is supposed to make sense of it and keep up."

The couple's lawyers are presently discussing the terms of their divorce settlement, including access to the three children they raise together - Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight and David Banda, three.

Madonna is presently in the USA on her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour, while Guy remains in the UK, working on his latest film 'Sherlock Holmes'.

Madonna's London vow

Mad Madonna has vowed to stay in London despite the painful break-up of her marriage to British film director Guy Ritchie.

Madonna has vowed to stay in London despite the painful break-up of her marriage.

The American singer was expected to return to her home country after the breakdown of her nearly eight-year marriage to Guy, but reportedly wants to remain in the UK capital for the sake of the three children they raise together: Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight and adopted David Banda, three.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Everyone expected Madonna to go and live in New York - taking the children with her. But despite some of the unhappy memories that London holds, she still feels that it's the best base for the kids.

"They are very happy at their school and she doesn't want anything to interfere with that. London still has a massive hold on her and it's hard to just shake off.

"While she will still spend a lot of time away from Britain like she does at the moment, any suggestion she's turning her back on Britain for good are false."

Guy, 40, is insisting on having full access to the children. He is not Lourdes' biological father, but has always treated her as his own.

Last night (19.10.08), Madonna's representative Liz Rosenberg, denied reports the couple have finalised their divorce and reached a settlement.

Meanwhile, Madonna has now been linked to convicted mafia killer Chris Paciello.

The 50-year-old singer was rumoured to be involved with 37-year-old Paciello 10 years ago - before he was jailed in 1999 for seven years for his role in a New York robbery which left a woman dead.

A source claims Madonna has been flying to Paciello's home in Miami to rekindle their relationship between shows on her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour.

She also reportedly put up £25,000 bail when Paciello was arrested on suspicion of beating up a man in Hollywood in August.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Chris was in trouble again earlier this year, and it was Madonna he turned to for help then. They've remained close, and they're in constant touch wherever she is in the world."

It has been reported the pair were both staying in the same hotel in Toronto yesterday, after Madonna's performance in the Canadian city on Saturday (18.10.08).

Madonna has repeatedly been romantically linked to US baseball star Alex 'A-Rod' Rodriguez, but has always denied their alleged relationship.

Madonna's doomed marriage

Mad Madonna's marriage was doomed after Guy Ritchie's "unsympathetic" reaction to her 2005 horse riding accident - when she broke eight bones - friends claim.

Madonna's marriage was doomed after Guy Ritchie's "unsympathetic" reaction to her 2005 horse riding accident.

The turning point in the couple's relationship came when the singer broke eight bones in the fall, after which Madonna claims she received a "complete lack of love and sympathy" from her husband according to friends.

Pals believe the accident - which happened as she was celebrating her 47th birthday at the couple's Wiltshire home - caused many arguments between the couple and in one outburst after the incident Madonna reportedly asked Guy: "Did you ever really love me?"

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "From the moment Madonna fell from that horse, their marriage was doomed. If you can pinpoint an exact event, Madonna's horse-riding accident was it. Every other row the couple had following that boiled down to what happened that summer.

"Guy approached the whole thing in what she now calls, 'A very British way'. Instead of smothering her with sympathy he said, 'Come on darling, you're a tough bird. You'll be back on the horse in no time.'

"In Madonna's mind, she could have been killed, and she wanted to be lavished with love and attention.

"She was so furious at what she saw as Guy's lack of support and cruelty that she told him she was wrong to marry him."

Madonna broke four ribs, her collar bone, scapula and her left knuckle after falling from her horse.

After the accident, Madonna apparently confided to friends: "Guy can't possibly be my soulmate."

Friends of the star - who announced her divorce from Guy on Wednesday (15.10.08) - also claim she blames Guy's attitude on his British public school upbringing and has ruled out the idea of ever dating another English man.

Madonna told a pal Guy's action were "typical of emotionally-stunted British men".

The 50-year-old singer is continuing on her US tour, while Guy, 40, remains in London and has immersed himself in filming his new project 'Sherlock Holmes'.

The couple - who were married for almost eight years - are expected to divorce by Christmas.

Madonna's 'definite' romance

Mad Madonna, who announced she and husband Guy Ritchie are getting divorced yesterday (15.10.08), and baseball player Alex Rodriguez are "definitely romantic", according to friends of the pair.

Madonna and baseball player Alex Rodriguez are "definitely romantic", according to friends of the pair.

The 50-year-old singer - who announced she and husband Guy Ritchie are getting divorced yesterday (15.10.08) - and the sportsman have reportedly been meeting secretly and are keen to pursue their relationship.

A source close to Madonna - who was first romantically linked to Alex, nicknamed A-Rod, in July - said: "Madonna and A-Rod are definitely romantic. They are more involved than ever. Alex has really missed spending time with Madonna. However, he understands the position Madonna's in."

The couple - who were spotted having dinner together earlier this month - have reportedly agreed to keep their romance "discreet" until Madonna and Guy's divorce is finalised.

Friends of Madonna insist she did not cheat on Guy and revealed the couple have been living separate lives for the past 12 months.

The source added: "Guy is not involved in this equation. With or without A-Rod, Madonna and Guy haven't been 'together' for over a year - they have been privately separated. Madonna, however, wanted to finish her world tour before divorcing."

Madonna and A-Rod have both vehemently denied relationship claims in the past.

Meanwhile, Madonna made several thinly-veiled references to her relationship woes during her concert in Boston, America, last night.

The pop superstar, who was performing at the TD Banknorth Garden arena as part of her 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour, introduced her song 'Miles Away' with a rant about people who struggle to deal with their feelings.

Madonna, who previously claimed Guy inspired the track, told the crowd: "This song is for the emotionally retarded. Maybe you know some people who fall into that category. I know I do."

Later in the evening when Madonna launched into 'I'm Not Sorry', she screamed to the audience: "That's right, I'm not sorry!"

Madonna's towel trouble

Madonna's tour towels have been seized by Eastern European border control guards.

The '4 Minutes' singer - who is currently on her 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour - travel with 300 designer towels for herself and her dancers to use when they come off stage, but Montenegro officials confiscated them because they were suspicious about why she needed so many.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "The customs people had never come across that kind of volume of towels for personal use before, or the cost given for them. People in Montenegro just aren't used to spending that much on a towel."

The singer is set to perform in Budva city tomorrow (25.09.08).

This is not the first time Madonna's tour has encountered a problem.

Earlier this month, it was claimed her tour crew were threatening to quit.

Some of the 250 staff were said to feel they were being treated like "second class citizens" after being given cheap hotel accommodation while Madonna stayed in luxury hotels.

A source said: "People were absolutely furious with her and some of them want to walk out of the tour."

Guy Ritchie has banned his wife Madonna from driving a fast car.

The 'RocknRolla' director, who turns 40 on September 10, doesn't want his 50-year-old spouse to buy him a sports car for his birthday because she is "appalling" behind the wheel.

He said: "If she buys a fast car, she will not be a driver in it. No way will Madonna drive a fast car! She is an appalling driver."

Guy also admits he doesn't share Madonna's interest in horses and is actually terrified of them.

He said: "The missus loves horses, but actually I'm scared of horses. I run away, I've never been able to get over that horse thing."

When asked if the couple, who are already raising three children together, are planning to expand their brood further, Guy answered: "You will have to speak to her about that. She makes those decisions."

He added: "I listen to what my wife has to say. I don't sniff at her creative opinions. I value them."

Guy and Madonna have two sons - eight-year-old Rocco and David, two, who was adopted from Malawi. Madonna also has an 11-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship.

Earlier this month, it was claimed the couple were planning to adopt a two-year-old girl from Malawi.

Madonna's letter anger

Mad_2 'Give It 2 Me' singer Madonna is furious that explicit love letters she once wrote may be made public in a new exhibition called 'Simply Madonna: Materials of the Girl'.

Madonna is furious that her explicit love letters may be made public.

The 'Give It 2 Me' singer has reportedly instructed her lawyers to stop the organisers of new exhibition 'Simply Madonna: Materials of the Girl' from displaying the racy notes.

Madonna sent the 17 letters - which include photographs - to her then-boyfriend James Albright in the 90s and signed some of them Spanky, said to be a reference to her fondness of being spanked during sex, while others include a lipstick kiss.

A source said: "Who would want private sentiments to someone they loved revealed? Lawyers sent a warning. She hopes it will work."

The show will open in East London next February, and will include some of the most iconic stage outfits she has worn during her 25-year career.

Among the 300 items going on show are the pink dress the singer wore in the 'Material Girl' video, and the evening dress from the 1996 film 'Evita'.

A black bustier she modelled in her 'Open Your Heart' video and the wedding dress she wore during her 'Like a Virgin' tour will also be displayed.

Exhibition Curator Ted Owen said: "This is an unprecedented collection of Madonna memorabilia, that represents every stage of her glittering career.

"These are museum-quality pieces - but they will be presented in keeping with the glamour and sense of theatre that the queen of pop has made her trademark - and Madonna fans should be very excited indeed."

Madonna kicked off her 50-date 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour in Cardiff, Wales, on Saturday (23.08.08).

Madonna's Hitler storm

Mad Madonna has come under fire for comparing US Presidential candidate John McCain to Adolf Hitler on her 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour.

Madonna has come under fire for comparing US Presidential candidate John McCain to Adolf Hitler.

An image of McCain flashed on screen alongside images of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and Zimbabwean dictator Robert Mugabe at the first night of her 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, Wales, on Saturday (23.08.08).

The images were shown as Madonna performed her song 'Get Stupid'.

Tucker Bounds, an outraged spokesperson for McCain's campaign, used the opportunity to take a swipe at McCain's Presidential rival Barack Obama.

He said: "The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time.

"It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."

While McCain - the Republican party candidate for the November US election - was shown opposite despots, his rival, Democratic candidate Barack Obama was juxtaposed with pictures of peace activist Mahatma Ghandi and late Beatles singer John Lennon in the same song.

Meanwhile, Madonna has reportedly been forced out of her own gym by noisy construction workers.

The 50-year-old singer spent £12 million converting the Georgian house next door to her London home into a state-of- the-art workout room.

But after several months of noisy drilling, leering and suggestive whistling from nearby workers, she has switched to another gym.

A friend close to the star said: "Madonna felt as if she has been living in a siege situation. The noise of the drilling meant she was forced to listen to her iPod at full volume, potentially damaging her ears."

Madonna has since moved to her personal trainer's gym.

Her 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour continues in Nice, France, tonight (26.08.08) before moving on to Germany and Switzerland.

The 'Give It 2 Me' singer - who turned 50 last weekend - got staff to trawl internet auction site eBay and dance shops for the garments to make sure she has the perfect leg-wear.

She has also requested 100 pairs of knee pads, 12 trampolines and four large freezers of ice cubes to sooth aching muscles for her 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour.

Twelve seamstresses are working to make her costume changes run smoothly during the show.

On top of her extravagant wardrobe, Madonna will also be sporting £500,000 worth of Swarovski crystals.

The diva's 250-strong entourage also includes a chiropractor, a personal trainer and a masseuse, and her dancers have put in an unbelievable 653 hours of rehearsals for the show.

The 45-date tour kicks off in Cardiff, Wales, tomorrow (23.08.08).

Last week, the star's film director husband Guy Ritchie threw a lavish £100,000 party for 90 guests to celebrate his wife reaching the landmark age.

Madonna's birthday tribute

Mad Madonna's husband Guy Ritchie paid tribute to his wife at her 50th birthday celebrations on Saturday (16.08.08) at her £100,000 bash.

Madonna's husband Guy Ritchie paid tribute to her at her 50th birthday celebrations on Saturday (16.08.08).

The director threw a lavish £100,000 party for 90 guests to celebrate his wife reaching the landmark age at the weekend and, in an emotional speech, spoke of his love and pride for the singer.

Guy - who has been dogged by rumours his marriage to the pop superstar is on the rocks - told partygoers at the Volstead nightclub in London: "She looks better now than she has ever done. I'm so proud. I love her so much."

Despite organising the party, Guy spent most of the day working as he hosted a private industry screening of his new movie 'RocknRolla'.

An insider commented: "It was as if he was trying to make a point by not being at her beck and call."

The 'Give It 2 Me' singer was moved to tears when her 11-year-old daughter Lourdes performed a surprise rendition of 'Never Alone' from the musical 'Fame' at the venue's grand piano.

Madonna was left disappointed after her closest friends - including Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow - failed to attend the party.

In a 40-minute speech, she thanked Guy, Lourdes, eight-year-old son Rocco, and adopted son David, two, before adding: "I'm really disappointed. There are a lot of people who are not here tonight, but thanks to everyone who did make it."

Guy - who refused to dance with his wife - also poked fun at the absence of Madonna's friends in his speech, noting that many of the guests worked for her.

Around 40 partygoers were her dancers, who joined the star and her children to gyrate to her back catalogue on the dance-floor, which had a huge M in the middle.

A friend said: "She loved it when her songs came on. Her dancers were pulling out all the moves, it was like the final rehearsal for her tour."

Madonna's adoption confirmed

MadMadonna is set to adopt a three-year-old Malawian girl, it has been confirmed.

Madonna is set to adopt again, it has been confirmed.

The singer has renewed her bid to care for three-year-old Mercy James now that her marriage to Guy Ritchie is stronger and Malawian officials say she is "on the cusp" of completing the process.

Penstone Klembe, Malawi adoption minister, told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Madonna's representatives have been visiting the girl. The adoption is now advanced — all the government is waiting for is Madonna to forward the petition of adoption formalities.

"Then Mercy will be able to leave the country for a new life."

According to friends, Madonna, 49, and Guy, 39 - who began the process to adopt David Banda from Malawi in 2006 before it finalised earlier this year - renewed their bid to adopt the toddler after working to save their marriage following rumours the singer was having an affair with sportsman Alex Rodriguez.

One friend said: "The adoption process in Malawi is so long and stressful that all the legal wrangling put a huge strain on their marriage.

"They dropped proceedings to pour all their energies into each other. But Madonna now feels they are stable enough to press ahead with the adoption again."

However, Mercy's family are said to oppose the adoption.

Her grandmother, Lucy Chekechiwa, 60, says she is "firmly against" Mercy being adopted outside of her home country.

She said: "We know that it is Mercy who Madonna really wants. We heard it is because my granddaughter is such a beautiful, happy child.

"Twice I have told the adoption people that I do not want Mercy to go outside the country.

"But they keep on at us. Now they say that Mercy will be leaving us, but can return at age 18. Yet I might not be alive then."

The couple's original bid last year was dropped after the girl's uncle, John Nglanade blocked the application.

As well as David, Madonna and Guy have an eight-year-old son, Rocco, and Madonna has an 11-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship.

Madonna's Mercy wish

Mad 'Give It 2 Me' singer Madonna is desperate to adopt a second child from Malawi, two-year-old girl Mercy James.

Madonna is desperate to adopt a second child from Malawi.

The 'Give It 2 Me' singer wants to give a home to two-year-old girl Mercy James - whose mother died in childbirth and lives in an orphanage - but the child's family have said they are "not interested" in the proposition.

Madonna, 49, tried to push the adoption through last year, but Mercy's uncle John Nglande blocked it.

The star reportedly renewed attempts to adopt the toddler in May by sending aides to speak to her family, but they are only prepared to go ahead with the plan if Mercy is returned to them when she is six years old.

Mercy's grandmother Anaphiri is quoted by Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "When Mercy is no longer a baby we want her back. I do not want the money they said they'd give me."

Madonna's adoption of two-year old Malawian David Banda - a process she began in 2006 - was finalised earlier this year.

It was claimed the singer had received special treatment as laws which ban non-residents from adopting children in the country were ignored.

She was widely criticised when it was discovered that while David's mother had died, his father was still alive and had been visiting him in his orphanage.

It was confirmed yesterday (11.08.08) that Asienti Mwale, the women who raised David in Malawi, died on Sunday night (10.08.08) of pneumonia.

Madonna - who has two other children, Lourdes, 11, and eight-year-old Rocco - recently said the adoption process was like "natural childbirth".

She said: "It was painful and a big struggle and I didn't understand it. In the end, I rationalised that when a woman goes through natural childbirth, she suffers an enormous amount. I went through my own kind of birthing pains."

Madonna's party postponed

Mad Madonna has been forced to postpone her 50th birthday celebrations next Saturday (16.08.08) after she twisted her ankle.

Madonna has been forced to postpone her 50th birthday celebrations after twisting her ankle.

The '4 Minutes' singer - who reaches the milestone age on Saturday (16.08.08) - was set to throw a lavish party at her country estate in Wiltshire, England, but has now postponed the festivities after suffering an injury during rehearsals for her forthcoming world tour.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Plans are very hush-hush but Madonna is definitely going to celebrate in style.

"Unfortunately, not everything has gone as expected as she's had many other things on her mind - not least rehearsals for her 'Sticky and Sweet' tour. On top of all the stress, she twisted her ankle over the weekend.

"She views this as a sign she should postpone the birthday bash and play it by ear instead.

"Madonna now thinks it will go ahead during a three-day break in the tour towards the end of the month."

Among the guests invited to the party - which the singer's husband, director Guy Ritchie has helped plan - were officials involved with the couple's adoption of Malawian David Banda.

The source added: "Guy wants the party to be traditional and British. He has already ordered crate loads of real ale. He's also arranged for a folk band to play and the people invited - Gwyneth Paltrow, Stella McCartney and Trudie Styler - are basically friends Madonna's known for years.

"Everyone else will be immediate friends and family, plus a few people from Malawi that Madonna will be flying out. A few of her Kabbalah associates are also expected and Madonna will make sure only Kabbalah water will be served."

Madonna's Punchbowl problems

Mad 'Give It 2 Me' singer Madonna and her film director husband Guy Ritchie have been accused of price fixing at their London pub The Punchbowl.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been accused of price fixing at their London pub.

The couple bought 18th century pub The Punchbowl in London's Mayfair six months ago, but it is claimed staff at the venue operate a two-tier pricing system, with tourists being charged more for drinks than locals.

Pub visitor Brian Richardson said: "On Monday I paid £3.50 for a pint, now all of a sudden it's £3.90. I was shocked. I complained to staff. They have got two prices - regulars' prices and non-regulars' prices.

"I don't mind paying more but it is completely arbitrary. It is not the money, it is the price hike. It is outrageous."

His friend Andy Kneller added: "When Brian realised how much he was paying he disputed it. We know the governor.

"He did say we have prices for regulars and prices for people who don't come here very often. He dropped himself in it."

There is also no price list on display at the pub, which is a legal requirement.

Westminster Council is investigating the claims, which could even lead to the venue losing its license.

Assistant manager Henry Heaton vehemently denied the allegations, saying: "It is not true at all that we fail to have tariffs on display and charge different prices.

"The price list is up on the bar now. What has happened is some of the prices have changed.

"And it is not correct to say that regulars get drinks at better prices than tourists."

A spokesman for Madonna and Guy said the couple would not be commenting on the allegations.

Madonna's manager book

Madge_6 Madonna's manager Guy Oseary is writing a book about the star.

Madonna's manager is writing a book about her.

Guy Oseary is following in the footsteps of Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone by documenting the singer's life in a 224-page book, entitled 'Madonna: Confessions', containing exclusive photographs from her 2006 world tour.

Unlike Christopher's tell-all book 'Life With My Sister Madonna', Guy's tome was made with full cooperation from the '4 Minutes' singer, who handpicked the photographs and provided quotes and annotations.

Guy was the only person given full and unlimited access to Madonna during the tour.

'Madonna: Confessions' is the first book authorised by the star since her controversial 1992 coffee-table book 'Sex'.

It will be released in October, just before Madonna starts her Sticky and Sweet Tour.

The book's publishers, Powerhouse, are also working on another Madonna book, to accompany her documentary 'I Am Because We Are', about the orphan crisis in Malawi.

The book will feature black and white photos by celebrated American photographer Kristen Ashburn.

Madonna Sex Tape Claims

Madge_5 Madonna and her alleged lover Alex Rodriguez are reportedly the unwitting stars of a sex tape.

Madonna is reportedly at the centre of a sex tape scandal.

A cameraman claims to have a video of Madonna and baseball player Alex Rodriguez romping on a sofa.

He is trying to sell the tape - allegedly shot with a hidden camera in an apartment owned by a friend of the cameraman which was used by the couple for secret liaisons - for £1 million.

The unnamed owner of the tape claims he visited the property and hid a camera, pointed at the sofa which captured the X-rated footage two months ago.

A legal source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper that the implications of the secret filming could be dire for the cameraman, saying: "If footage was obtained in this way it would be an outrageous invasion of privacy. But more than that he would not have had his friend's consent to install the camera and must have entered the apartment without approval to hide it.

"He would be guilty of voyeurism. Instead of making a million he'd be going to jail for a few years."

Madonna, 49, has vehemently denied rumours she has been having an affair with baseball player Alex - nicknamed A-Rod - and has repeatedly denied reports of a rift in her marriage to Guy Ritchie.

Madonna's lawyers are "aware" of the sex tape claims, but have refused to comment further.

Meanwhile, Madonna has reportedly rearranged her forthcoming 'Sticky and Sweet' world tour so she can attend the premiere of Guy's new movie 'RocknRolla' and his 40th birthday party on September 10th.

Madonna facelift claims

Madge_3 Madonna has had a facelift, her brother Christopher Ciccone has claimed in a new TV interview.

Christopher, who has written a book entitled 'Life With My Sister Madonna' alleges the singer - who turns 50 in August - went under the knife in a bid to maintain her youthful appearance.

When asked if he still recognised Madonna from the girl he grew up with, Christopher replied: "Not after the facelift."

He added to US TV show 'Good Morning America': "I do recognise her in some ways, but I think ultimately she is a lonely person. It is truly lonely at the top."

Christopher recalled the moment his relationship with Madonna - who is married to director Guy Ritchie - started to deteriorate, during the filming of her 1991 documentary 'Truth Or Dare'.

He said: "When she was rolling around on my mother's grave in 'Truth or Dare' that was a turning point for me. I kept it inside but I thought, 'OK, there are no boundaries here. My mother has now become a bit player in her life story', That hurt me, my relationship with her changed."

Christopher says despite his revelations about the singer, he is hopeful they will mend their relationship in the future, so he can get to know his extended family.

He said: "I think she will speak to me again, I hope so, but I don't want to talk to her unless we are talking to each other as equals. And if that means she stays together with her husband and we don't have a relationship then as long as she is happy that's cool with me.

"What I'm suggesting is that Guy's attitude towards me has to change, number one, and her attitude towards me needs to change, number two. If those things occur, I would like to get to know my niece and nephew better and I would like to meet their adopted son David.

"I love my sister, more than love her. I love her, but it will take some time for us to find our way back to a good place and I hope it does."

Madonna has an 11-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship. She and Guy have a seven-year-old son Rocco and an adopted son, David, two.

Madonna's love for Penn

Madge_2 Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone claims the singer's ex-husband Sean Penn was "the love of her life".

The 'Material Girl' singer - who was married to 'Mystic River' actor Sean from 1985 to 1989 - says she has never truly got over her split from Sean.

He said: "Sean was definitely the love of her life."

Christopher - who recently blamed Madonna's current husband Guy Ritchie for his estranged relationship with his sister - also revealed he and Sean bonded in a unique way.

He added to US TV show 'Extra': "He cut my thumb open - he cut his open - we pressed them together and he was like, 'OK, cool - now we're blood brothers!' "

Later in the explosive interview, the artistic director claims he once found Madonna's ex-boyfriend Warren Beatty going through her rubbish, shortly before their relationship ended.

He said: "I see a shadow going through the garbage can, I look over, and I realise it's Warren. I think they were both suspect of each other, as far as being true."

'Catholic girl' Madonna

Madge Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone insists the singer is still "a Catholic girl" and isn't having an affair with baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone insists the singer is still "a Catholic girl" and would never have an affair.

The 47-year-old author - whose book 'Life with My Sister Madonna' is causing controversy worldwide - is certain Madonna is not responsible for the breakdown of baseball player Alex Rodriguez's marriage, branding the rumours "absurd".

He told US TV show 'Good Morning America': "I think it's highly unlikely. I know Alex from Miami. I doubt this is actually an affair… I'm sure she had nothing to do with the break-up of their marriage. It seemed absurd to me, truly, I don't believe it. Despite everything else, she's still a Catholic girl."

However, Christopher - who had a close relationship with Madonna until she started dating her now husband Guy Ritchie - admits Madonna and Guy are having problems in their marriage, but have turned to Kabbalah, a mystical offshoot of Judaism, to help them through this difficult time.

He revealed in his book: "A Kabbalah rabbi would regularly come down from London to meditate between them. This does not surprise me. I believe Kabbalah is keeping them together."

Despite reports Madonna has already hired a divorce lawyer, Christopher insists it is unlikely the 49-year-old singer will follow through with the threat.

He added to 'Good Morning America': "I believe she'll do what's best for the family and her kids and I think she'll do her best to maintain the marriage and keep it going. She's not the kind of person to walk away."

Christopher also claims Guy is directly responsible for the breakdown of his relationship with Madonna, insisting: "Guy Ritchie pretty much happened to our relationship. The best way to get to my sister was to get into bed with her - the last person to speak to her at night has a lot of influence. We both couldn't exist in the same hemisphere."

The artistic director - who directed Madonna's 1991 documentary 'Madonna: Truth or Dare' - also revealed that before his estrangement from his sister, Guy discriminated against him because of his sexuality.

He said on the morning talk show: "When it comes to selecting the wood for his closet, I show him 12 samples and he tells me that they all look 'twee', using the word over and over.

"I get the message - I am gay and he doesn't want the house to reflect my sexuality, which is hardly likely."

Christopher hinted Guy's inability to accept him may have caused problems in his and Madonna's marriage.

He wrote: "It has always been of paramount importance to Madonna that the man in her life should be able to deal with the gay men in her life."

Madonna and Britney to tour together

Picture_2 ...kind of. Britney's making a video that'll be shown every night at Madonna's gruesomely-titled "Sticky and Sweet" tour. We can only speculate what Britney might do for her on/off snog partner Maddy's show, and what it'll have to do with title. Presumably they'll be shaving each others' heads (or worse) and copping off while making toffee apples or something.

Is Madonna and Guy Ritchie's marriage on the rocks?

9908879madonnaThere has been much speculation of late concerning the Ritchie's seven-year marriage. Madonna and Guy haven't been spotted together since January. He didn't accompany her to any of her recent big events, including her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and to reciprocate she didn’t mention him during her acceptance speech. His father John has revealed to Closer magazine that concerns over the couple's future might be warranted.

"They're not spending any time together," says John Ritchie. "Madonna is busy in America with the children, and Guy wants to stay in the UK. They won't be spending Easter together either. Guy will be over here all year as he's working on a script. I don't know if there are serious problems in the marriage. I truly hope not." As do we. Clearly not comfortable with such gossip, Madonna has had her long-time publicist Liz Rosenberg come out fighting in defence of the couple.

"The Material Girl" (can't she call her Madonna?) "toured the US to promote her upcoming album Hard Candy, while the director was in England putting the finishing touches on his new film RocknRolla, filming a Nike commercial and working on several scripts," adding that the pair are "joyfully back together at home in London. All is well and wonderful in the Ritchie household."

Anyone else smell a rat?

Newly single Lily Allen ruins Madonna's speech at awards show

060713_lilyallen_2Lily Allen is back on the market again after having split with DJ boyfriend Seb Chew after a two-and-a half year relationship. The mouthy madam is happy to reveal her new single status, revealing that: 'Seb and I aren't together any more. I split with him a month ago so I'm single now. I'm back on the market and I need to get in practice. I don't know if I can pull any more.' Any takers?

And how did the newly available singer enjoy herself at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards? By talking loudly all the way through Madonna’s presentation speech. The Material Girl’s surprise appearance was in support of chum interior designer David Collins whom she presented with the Inspiration Award, only for Lily to chatter noisily throughout. An onlooker described the scene: 'Lily was being rude and loud, she was chatting all of the way through and it was painfully obvious. At first nobody noticed but then it was evident what she was doing — even Madge gave her a look.'

Such was Lily’s typically uproarious behavior that she was reportedly sent home by her record company bosses at EMI before anything serious went down. So how would we rate her chances against the Queen of Pop in a bare-knuckle fight? Lily has age on her side, but no amount of scuffed up trainers could cope with an über-fit and pumped-up Madonna. Having said that, the Kabbalah might forbid her from drop kicking Lily in the face. Shame.

Madonna releases a new tune.. and shows us how bendy she is

425madonna0302071

Is it just me or does Madonna look seriously uncomfortable in this picture? We see her posing  for the cover of her new single, 'The Beat Goes On', produced by Pharrell, and here's a little snippet of her oh so inspiring lyrics. You have to admire the lady though, for that yoga like pose at her age. Ouch.

Here comes the rain
(Here comes the rain)

Wash away all the pain
(wash away the pain)
Coming together, going apart
I want you to stay
(Hope you wanna stay)

Always the bride’s maid, never the bride
Two steps behind, you’ve got too much pride
Always supporting, never the star
Get it together, cause the beat goes on

On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes
On and on the beat goes

Oh, it does go on allright. Yay or Nay?

Cosmetic surgeries of the stars revealed

Air-brushing, good lighting, constant supervision from a make-up artist (how very Victoria Beckham) – there are many ways for celebrities to look better on the front cover of a magazine than how they look first thing in the morning. What is quite depressing is how many of them take it a step further and get cosmetic surgery. Slebs, with the media, present the world with unattainable ideas of beauty and then struggle to meet their own standards. For those of you having a spot break-out today, hate your wonky nose or wish you had fuller lips, never fear as Star Trip is at hand to make you feel better. We present a quite revealing YouTube clip of stars who have had a bit of help from their surgeon, from those you knew had, to those that you didn’t. According to this, no-one in Tinseltown is actually naturally good-looking – score!

Morrissey slates Madonna's adoption

Morrissey Morrissey. I really don't like him much. Writing the soundtrack to a thousand door slammers and sulking self harmers, Morrissey was a constant grey cloud over many-a-bedroom.

That said, if you need someone to slag someone else off, Mozza's your man.

Unimpressed by Madonna's adoption of David Banda, seeing the boy being used simply as an accessory, Morrissey said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if she made that African boy into a coat and wore him … for 15 minutes, and then threw it away.”

Stunning. Simply stunning.

Madonna; Look into my eyes...

Madgefadge US telly presenters who were invited to interview Madonna at Live Earth were shocked... and ultimately frightened stiff... when they received a list of strict rules from Madonna's minders. Interviewers were told in no uncertain terms that the haggard old has-been would be unhappy if they lost eye contact with her at any point during a chat. Not the first time Madonna made odd requests before her show mind you...

The instructions warned: "Eye contact must be maintained at all times. Never look down to check notes - all questions must be memorised or the interview will be terminated." Off limits were questions about her marriage to brow beaten Guy Ritchie, her devotion to Kabbalah and the David Banda baby bribing/adoption saga.

If listening to her prattle on about how 'independent', 'strong' and 'spiritual' she is ain't bad enough, imagine having to simultaneously stare into those cold dead eyes too. Now we know what it's like to be Guy Ritchie I guess...

Madonna demands Yorkshire Tea and more

Madge

Madonna is all heart. She wants to save the planet by saving children from living in Africa and is to preach her own good word about our planet at the forthcoming Live Earth event. That's not stopped her acting like a diva and making all kinds of demands though. Organisers at the event have received a list of demands.

Madge told bosses that she wanted a number of items - including full length mirrors and boxes of strawberries - to be delivered to her dressing room in time for show rehearsals. A source told the Daily Star: "She has asked for 12 dozen boxes of strawberries, eight full-length mirrors, a skipping rope, Yorkshire Tea, organic green tea, and vanilla room spray. It's all quite amusing - but if this is just for rehearsals we can't wait to see what happens on the big day."

The insider added: "Let's just say the organisers have been frazzled trying to make sure all the acts feel like they are the main attraction." Live Earth takes place on Saturday at Wembley Stadium. There will also be a number of concerts at other locations including New York, Sydney and Tokyo. Whether or not further concerts will be needed to rescue the planet from all those pop stars jetting around the world is unclear at the time of press.

Celebrity Diet Watch: Madonna loves Power-Plate action

Powerplate_side

It's universally acknowledged that Madonna looks amazing and normally us mere mortal sigh and put it down to her having a personal trainer, masses of money and access to high tech wizardry that the like of us can only dream about . However it has been revealed that she uses the Power Plate machine to keep her torso so trim, and while at £6,995 for one it may be out of our price range, thankfully studios exist now, where for a mere £20 a session we can buff our body ready for those summer bikini's.

But how does it work? Good Vibes Fitness, a studio dedicated purely to Power Plates fills us in on the nitty gritty. A Power Plate workout uses high speed vibration training to work out your whole body in a mere 25 minutes, and then allow you continue with your day. Perfect for the modern working man or woman, these are fitness sessions you can literally fit into your lunch break, and the toning nature of the class means you won't even sweat off your makeup!

Sounds great in concept, but what's the reality? Your intrepid Star Trip writer takes the Power Plates for a test drive...

Read the results after the jump.

I was slightly scared when I entered the studio, the large machines looked like something from a galaxy far far away, and the constant humming sounded like an epileptic bee on acid. However, the friendly staff put me at ease, and I was dressed in sweatpants-shirt and bare feet, so felt very comfortable.I was worried everyone would be supermodel types but there was a range of office workers and aspiring actresses, so there was no fitness show down.

There are five machines, so classes are small and you get a lot of individual attention, which is useful when I incorrectly crouched when I should have squatted. The vibrations did send constant tremors up my body, but I was promised that these tremors were tricking my brain into thinking I was falling, so my body would engage  nearly 100% of all muscle fibres to keep me stabilised. Your muscles contract and relax 30-50 times a second, hence the high speed training. As well as general toning qualities it is thought that constant power plating increases metabolism and blood flow as well as improving flexibility. I could well believe that; though the session itself was fairly relaxing, the constant juddering  has to be good for my circulation, and the massaging effects of the vibrations encourage lymphatic drainage.

Indeed, the founder of the Good Vibes Studio, Nahid de Belgeonne was once a client, who after a few sessions on a Power-Plate was so impressed with the results that she decided to retrain and open up her own dedicated Power-Plates studios. When someone is that enamoured with a product that she chooses to dramatically refocus her life around it it sounds like a good thing!

Leaving the studio I was disappointed to see that my limbs had not achieved Madonna-esque perfection, but apparently you need to go three times a week to start seeing any noticeable results, and as with any exercise there are no immediate quick fixes. Next day I woke in agony with my thigh muscles screaming abuse and aches and pains in unmentionable places. I was surprised but pleased, as it meant that session had actually had an effect, even if I hadn't sweated at the time

I will definitely be going back, and while I may never reach Madonna's sinewy perfection, I'm hoping a that a more chiseled torso isn't completely out of reach.

Madonna, Malawi, and the zombie rampage

Funnypictureszombiesurvivalkit1cs Depending on who you believe, Madonna is either in Malawi at this very second, in the middle of an orphan-gathering rampage the likes of which the world has ever seen, or she's dropped in on the country so that baby David can get to know his father and his heritage.

These are boring explanations that have absolutely nothing to do with my long-held belief that Madonna is simply using the David Banda story and its surrounding controversy to disguise the fact that she is really a zombie. She has eaten the brains of England, got bored of our weather, and decided to go somewhere sunny for her next feed. So now you know.

Madonna to strip on Nip/Tuck

Madonna_18Lucky us! The 48-year-old Madonna is set to strip on the TV show Nip/Tuck and end up in bed with Dr.Christian Troy, the man-tramp surgeon, played by actor Julian McMahon. Ryan Murphy, the creator of the show, apparently told The Sun the he was "going to write something for Madonna", just as he's written parts for other celebrity fans of the show such Rosie O'Donnell. Nicole Kidman is reportedly all set to sign on, as well as Sandra Bullock. Murphy says, "Sandy said she wanted to come on last year and she didn't. She wants to come on the last episode and she wants to get her whole body done or something."

Angelina lashes out against Madonna

Angelinapa_175x125_2Santa Angelina has lashed out against Madonna for adopting her son from Malawi, where adoption is illegal,"Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where he was born. It's a country where there is no real legal framework for adoption. Personally, I prefer to stay on the right side of the law. I would never take a child away from a place where adoption is illegal."

Angelina is known for her work as an Good Will Ambassador for the United Nations, so I can understand why it would bother her that Madonna's sole purpose for going to Malawi, was to adopt a child. Now, yes, Madonna's adoptive son will have a much better quality of life than he would have had back in Africa...but it just seems a touch "monkey see, monkey do" on Madonna's part.

Spank your horse with Madonna's riding crop

Madonnaridingcrop Now that Madonna's an English lady, it's surprising she has no need for a big leather riding crop. Not to spank her husband, tsk, but to ride horses. She doesn't want this one anyway, which Bayraider has found lurking on eBay. It was used as a prop during Madonna's Erotica tour. It's 26-inches long, has a black and silver shaft, and is even decorated with a disco ball.

Also today on Bayraider: GOB's rooster mask from Arrested Development, and Britney Spears' Mardi Gras head-dress. If you bought all three items, they'd be one helluva party outfit.

Madonna hits back over adoption farrago

Madonnafamily So, Madonna's Newsnight interview was screened last night in the UK, and she's clearly miffed at the press speculation and criticism around her adoption of Malawan baby David Banda. The Mirror points out that Madonna claimed nobody was visiting David in his orphanage, and that she offered his father money to keep the baby in Malawi, but he refused.

"If somebody had said to me: 'Oh, his dad comes every week', or 'His granny visits on a regular basis and he's well looked after', I would not have given it another thought," said the star. Nobody's put the full intervew up on YouTube yet, but you can watch a preview clip showing Madge putting her view across (against a suitably Kabbalah-esque backdrop of curtains'n'candles).

Madonna to appear on British TV to defend adoption

Madonna_16 Having already appeared on Oprah to defend herself over her recent adoption of a baby boy from Malawi, Madonna is now also going to front up on Newsnight here in the UK. It'll be her first UK interview since adopting David Banda, and is due to be shown on Wednesday night. Sadly, she's not facing Jeremy Paxman And His Magic Sneer, but Kirsty Wark instead.

The Mirror says Madge will also use the interview to plug her new children's book 'The English Roses: Too Good To Be True'. Which as we speak, is being feverishly translated into Malawan. Probably.

Madonna's raunchy book makes the perfect Christmas present

Madonnasex Back in the days before Madonna was flying around the planet saving orphans from poverty - and rumour has it in her upcoming Oprah interview she says everyone should consider it - she was scandalising tabloids and religious bigots alike by releasing books packed with pics of her in her scanties (and sometimes not even that). 'Sex' was the name of the book, and it came out in 1992. And now you can buy an unopened copy on eBay, which the seller suggests would make the perfect Chrimbo gift.

Also today on Bayraider: Howard Stern's smelly jockstrap, and a vintage Beatles hair brush.

Madonna hits back over Malawi adoption controversy

Madonnababydavid_1 Crumbs, this Madonna adoption story is going to run and run. The Sun reports on a statement issued by Madge and husband Guy Ritchie yesterday, which had the in-no-way-self-important heading 'An Open Letter From Madonna':

“I did not wish to disclose my intentions to the world prior to the adoption happening as this is a private family matter," reads the statement. "After learning there were over one million orphans in Malawi, it was my wish to open up our home and help one child escape an extreme life of hardship, poverty and, in many cases, death, as well as expand our family. Nevertheless, we have gone about the adoption procedure according to the law like anyone else who adopts a child."

Meanwhile, The Sun claims Madonna wants to adopt a Chinese baby next, which would qualify as a Benetton-style approach to adoption if true. "Chinese philosophy has similarities to Kabbalah and Madonna feels an empathy with the country," a source tells the paper. "She feels she would be able to bring up a Chinese baby with the same sort of ideals that Kabbalah teaches."

Madonna adoption latest: it ain't gonna be easy

Madonna_14 Is adopting a child from another country the easy route to motherhood? Not judging by the ongoing story of Madonna's attempt to adopt a 13-month old boy from Malawi. The Mirror has the latest news, which sees problems for the adoption both in Malawi and here in the UK.

One story says the boy David's natural father, Yohane Banda, was not aware of all the consequences of signing the adoption papers. Well, sort of. "It has all been very crazy," he tells the paper. "Everything has happened so fast. I can't believe what is happening. But in court, I did understand I was agreeing to give the baby up for adoption."

Meanwhile, assuming Madonna and Guy can bring David into the UK, they'll face stiff questioning from social workers, according to David Holmes, chief of the British Association for Adopting and Fostering.

"They would have to go through the same rigorous process which will explore every aspect of their life, relationship and motivation to adopt. They would have to let the social worker into their home. They would have to talk about their ups and downs as a couple, their childhood and their whole relationship. Previous marriages and relationships will also have to be explored."

Tabloid Tales: Are Guy Ritchie and Madonna squabbling over school year start?

Madonna_12 No, it's not a row over whether they should get Lourdes and Rocco's uniforms from an exclusive tailor, or go for the £4 trousers in Tesco. At least, not yet. Instead, today's Sun reports that Guy doesn't want Madonna to take the kids on tour with her once the new school term starts, so they can get their 3 R's from one school, rather than shuttling around the globe with mum.

"Madonna thinks it’s good for her kids to be with Mom and see the world, but Guy disagrees," a family source tells the paper. "He’s more traditional and would prefer them at one school." Let's hope they get the row sorted out soon so they can move onto the important issues, like whether the kids should get Monster Munch or Cheestrings in their lunch boxes...

Madonna: "Guy Hates My Music"

Madonna_11 Madonna has revealed that her husband Guy Ritchie is not entirely without insight - he's not a fan of her more recent music.  Kids Rocco and Lourdes - combined age 15 - adore it, but hell, if you ask a nine-year-old whether they like the music that's paying for their XBox 360s, personal trainers and iPods, they're going to shut up and agree it's brilliant if they know what's good for them.

Madonna says:  "My children adore everything that I do. They love my dance music. My husband isn't a great fan."  Well, it's nice to see honesty between a celeb couple, people used to never having their work criticised by those around them.  If Madonna could now tell Guy that Snatch was one of the worst crimes against humanity ever committed to celluloid, perhaps a seed would be planted.  Too late to save us from Swept Away or American Life, but timely nonetheless.  [Toni Kelly]

Yet more Scientology-brainwash stories, this time Katie Holmes is described as  'dead in the eyes'.
Not content with pilfering clothes and jewellery, Winona Ryder is trying to steal Keanu Reeves's heart instead.
Cover your eyes and ears, kids, as Ace Ventura 3 is coming to a cinema near you. Without Jim Carrey, which is probably a good thing in my opinion.
P Diddy-doodles is robbed of a £6 million necklace whilst on holiday.
Thank the Lord, Madonna has given up acting permanently!
Justin Hawkins from the Darkness has checked into rehab at The Priory, presumably he turned to drugs and booze over his failed career.

Madonna outrages the Catholic church. Again.

Madonna_crucifix Honestly, you could set your watch by it. Madonna's playing Rome this Sunday, so it must be time for an outraged bishop to pop up and condemn her ungodly behaviour. Yes, here it is, a story in today's Mirror featuring Bishop Velasio De Paolis, apparently speaking with the approval of Pope Benedict. He's not happy about the way Madge descends onto the stage on a mirrored cross.

"This is a blasphemous challenge to the faith and a profanation of the cross," he says. "Satanists use holy objects in black Mass. She is following them." Come on, she's trying to sell gig tickets by rattling the chains of bishops - and by the sound of it, she's succeeding. [Stuart Dredge]

Are Madonna's stadium concerts worth £150 a ticket? The critics say yes

Madgeworldtour First reviews are in of Madonna's gig last night at Cardiff's Millennium stadium, and despite 5,000 seats reportedly remaining unsold due to high prices, both the Sun and the Mirror reckon the gig was fantastic.

In summary: Madge played 21 songs, with lots of stuff from her latest 'Confessions On A Dancefloor' album, but a few oldies thrown in for good measure; The opening few songs had an equestrian theme; She did a mash-up of 'Music' with 'Disco Inferno'; Madonna was wearing £2 million worth of Swarovski crystals at one point; and would you believe it, there were some bondage-themed outfits and she sang from a crucifix at one point. Worth £150 of anyone's money - the Sun helpfully calculates that this adds up to £7.14 per song. [Stuart Dredge]

Is Madonna Set To Adopt A Child?

Madonna_10 new magazine reports that Madonna is looking to adopt a third child after failing to conceive naturally with husband Guy Ritchie. The couple are said to have been to both US and UK adoption agencies and plan to go ahead when 47-year-old Madonna has finished her current world tour.

A source told the magazine: "They had a meeting about becoming parents to an orphaned baby. They are desperate to expand their family, but sadly Madonna has not managed to get pregnant again."

Since giving birth to son Rocco, Madonna has repeatedly been spotted visiting fertility clinics and specialist doctors but after four years has turned to adoption. Madonna also has a daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship. [Toni Kelly]

Madonna Bans Her Kids From All Sweets

Madonna_8 The more I read about Madonna's parenting skills, the more I want to break into her house and smuggle Lourdes and Rocco a nice big survival kit packed with all the goodies they're not allowed to touch. Star magazine reports that on a recent trip to New York's Water Club, Madonna went as far as to remove a bowl of sweets from the table she and her kids were at.

A spy says: "Everyone was feasting on burgers and chips, but Lourdes and Rocco were only allowed home-made snacks." Now I know childhood obesity is a problem and all, but come on Madge, give them a break! [Toni Kelly]

Madonna's holiday gear getting flak from both sides

Madonnaonbeach Poor Madonna, she just can't win today. The singer's relaxing in Miami to prepare for her upcoming tour, but The Sun is poking fun at her see-through wet t-shirt worn while paddling, and her head-to-toe towelling disguise while walking back up the beach. Meanwhile, the Mirror has some admittedly-juicy details of Madge's tour demands, which have been sent to UK venue bosses.

She wants a brand new loo-seat every night of the tour, three peculiar-sounding Kabbalah candles, and a Dead Sea foot-spa. Oh, and everything has to be draped in white, plus dozens of white roses dotting the backstage area. It's lucky she's playing arenas - they'd give her short shrift down the Camden Dog & Bucket, I can tell you... [Stuart Dredge]

Has Robbie Williams narked Guy Ritchie with his Madonna song?

Robbiewilliams Today's Mirror poses the question of whether Robbie Williams is brave or foolish. No, it's nothing to do with whether he should join the Take That reunion. Rob's reportedly got on Guy Ritchie's nerves with his new song 'She's Madonna', reportedly written about the way Guy dumped model Tania Strecker for Madonna (in short: "Look, you know I really love you, but she's Madonna.")

Unsurprisingly, Madge herself seems fine with Robbie raking the matter up in order to show how desirable she is, but a source tells the paper that hubby won't be so relaxed. "Guy's not going to be happy that all this is being dredged up again," they say. "Although everyone concerned has moved on, it's a bit out of order that Robbie has used it as the basis for one of his songs."

Go on Guy, send Vinnie Jones round with a shooter. You know it makes sense. [Stuart Dredge]

Madonna To Quit Kabbalah?

Madonna_whtjac_0706_228The Independent on Sunday claim that her Madgesty is considering leaving the cult Religious sect as she is growing weary of the Jewish belief system. Concerns about the finanicial burden it has taken on the family, as well as not celebrating Christmas with her children are cited as being the reasons behind the move. The Independent claim that she donates several million pounds to the religion every year, and bought a building for the London branch for more than £3.6 million several years ago. Perhaps she can become a member of the Star Trip religion and donate several million to us instead. You listening, Madonna? [Katherine Hannaford]

Madonna lining up Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson for new lesbian stunt

Madonnalindsaylohan Has Madonna run out of ideas? I only ask because Madge is reportedly in talks with Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan for what the tabloids are obliged to call a "three-way lesbian shocker" at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. You'll remember that three years ago at the same event she grabbed the headlines by snogging Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera on-stage, so her people have obviously decided it's time for more of the same.

Or is it? The Sun's story claims this time Madonna wants to go further, with "a bondage-inspired show". Which presumably means tying up Jess and Li-Lo, bundling them into sacks, and threatening to drop them off a bridge if they don't agree NEVER to tread on Madonna's 'actor/singer' turf again. Maybe. Madonna Ditches Britney For Lindsay Lohan

Madonna_7Now, we've all heard that Madonna dumped her BFF Britney Spears because she's a mingin' moll she didn't embrace Kabbalah as much as Madge had hoped, so obviously she is in dire need of a young twiglet to love, nurture, and brainwash into the ways of Kabbalah. Enter the impressionable young mind of Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay admitted recently to be 'looking into Kabbalah', and Madonna has confirmed there's talks of a duet between the two of them. Any of this sound familiar? How about 'All my people on the floor, let me see you dance,' does that ring a bell? A source claims that Lindsay and her Madgness speak to each other several times a week, and have planned a 'spiritual journey' together to visit 'the holy land.' If Lindsay has anything to do with planning this 'spiritual journey', it'll probably involve a little baggy in the stalls of Bungalow 8. Holy land, indeed. [Katherine Hannaford]

Madonna Is Scared of Her Mother-In-Law.

Madonna_6 Beings as Madonna seems to terrify everyone she comes into contact with (or maybe it's just Jonathan Ross is a big scaredy cat), it's nice to know Mrs. Take On The World and Everyone On It To Prove I'm Still Cool has experienced intimidation from the other side of the fence for a change.

She told the Sunday Times magazine: "Have I ever been totally and completely intimidated by another person? Yes. My husband's mother."

Notoriously one of the most difficult family relationships, it's great to see that even Madonna can fall foul of an evil mother-in-law. Though if rumours about her marriage are to be believed, she needn't worry for much longer... [Toni Kelly]

Madonna's Crucifix Stunt Earns Catholic Curse

Madonna_5Madonna causing outrage with a crucifix is surely so 1980s, right? Not according to Irish cleric Archbishop Michael Cox, who according to this story has placed a curse on Madge for opening her Confessions tour set by being strapped to a crucifix wearing a crown of thorns. Although the curse appears to just involve shouting about the "wrath of God" befalling Madonna, which we doubt will have her quaking in her boots. Obviously, if a huge lightning strike flattens Wembley Arena during one of her gigs this August, I'll eat my words. Unless that's part of her stage show too. [Stuart Dredge]

Madonna Splashes Out For Baby Moses.

Madonna_4 When my best friend gave birth, I send her a text message on the day and a set of earplugs a week later, and she seemed satisfied. So I'm hoping, considering she's pregnant again, she won't be reading this - as Madonna has been showing how to spoil a friends' newborn in a way I just can't afford. The Queen of Pop has been showering gifts from Los Angeles store Petit Tresor on the offspring of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin - baby Moses. Star magazine claims Madonna was spotted picking out a Moses - ha - basket and baby clothes.

Am I the only one who read recently they'd had a big fight? Or am I dreaming that? Whatever the situation, they seem to be getting on well enough now. [Toni Kelly]
